The trainings were led by Agnes Vorbrodt, Founder and Vice President of the Polish Green Building Council (PLGBC), Principal at VvS | Architects & Consultants and the first official USGBC Faculty in the CEE region.

LEED 201 training provides a solid foundation for pursuing the LEED Green Associate exam, provides information about the exam and study materials. It also allows to gain essential knowledge of sustainable building concepts fundamental to all LEED rating systems, LEED intents and concepts at the credit category level and basics of the LEED certification process. The participation in the course fulfills the GBCI education requirement.

LEED 251 BD+C gives solid foundation to begin working on LEED BD+C projects (LEED for Core and Shell, LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations as well as LEED for Schools). This is also the official course recommended for those pursuing LEED AP BD+C accreditation. It allows to gain essential knowledge of the LEED BD+C rating systems, including credit intents, requirements, and referenced standards; synergies among credits; and foundations of the LEED certification process.

LEED 251 EB:O+M gives solid foundation to begin working on LEED EB:O+M projects. In today’s business, LEED is the language of green. LEED 251 EB:O+M allows to gain essential knowledge of the LEED O+M rating system, including credit intents, requirements, and referenced standards; synergies among credits; and foundations of the LEED certification process. This course provides a foundation for pursuing the LEED AP O+M exam.

To date PLGBC educated on LEED over 250 professionals creating a group of leaders in the green building industry.

A large plus for the participants is the fact that those LEED course are taught in Polish, while providing official education materials in English, making studying and understanding the content easier.  [/fusion_text][/one_half][separator style_type=”double” top_margin=”30″ bottom_margin=”60″ sep_color=”” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”” class=”” id=””][one_half last=”no” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_text]DSC02777_800 agnes_800  roundtable_800[/fusion_text][/one_half][one_half last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”default” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Agnes Vorbrodt was part of the LEED International Roundtable meeting in San Francisco[/title][fusion_text]Photo credit: Oskar Einzig[/fusion_text][/one_half][separator style_type=”double” top_margin=”30″ bottom_margin=”60″ sep_color=”” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”” class=”” id=””][one_half last=”no” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_text]P1140962_600  P1150142_600[/fusion_text][/one_half][one_half last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][title size=”2″ content_align=”left” style_type=”default” sep_color=”” class=”” id=””]Agnes Vorbrodt was one of the organizers and speakers of the 4th PLGBC Green Building Symposium in Warsaw[/title][fusion_text]PLGBC symposium was a great success with keynote speakers Olgierd Dziekonski (Secretary of State) and Andrew Bowerbank. The group represented 15 European Green Building Councils (Poland, Romania, France, UK, Spain, Croatia, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia), 4 other global Green Building Councils (USA, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand) as well as four Europe Regional Network Partners (Skanska, Knauf, Philips and UTC).

This highly qualified group discussed the current condition of the global sustainability market, and the particular positions taken by European countries. Among other topics it focused on the current opportunities and challenges present on the European market, capacity building opportunities, policy targets as well as green building education. These topics were determined to be the most important ones for this region.

“As part of this effort in Poland, PLGBC is launching new member activity: PLGBC Policy Committee – says Agnes Vorbrodt, PLGBC Founder and CEO. “ PLGBC has been active in the WGBC ERN Policy Task Force and WGBC ERN Education Task Force since their establishment in 2010. Now it’s time to launch these in Poland. PLGBC is very lucky to have such active Member Companies – Policy Task Force took off very actively from the day it was established, with a goal to follow national and European legislation, participate in international work on green building standards and legislation as well as to positively influence the marketplace and lead the market transformation towards green economy”.

The WGBC ERN meetings take place 4 times a year. She is also one of three USGBC Faculty members in Europe, and 7 international.

USGBC Faculty is a very prestigious designation for professionals authorized by the USGBC to officially teach LEED. In order to become USGBC Faculty, a person has to go through a very stringent review and qualification process. The USGBC takes under consideration academic and professional achievements, knowledge of LEED rating systems as well as extensive LEED project experience.

Currently there are 95 USGBC Faculty members, most of them located in the US. Only seven of them are designated as international Faculty, three located in Europe – Agnes Vorbrodt in CEE, one in Spain and one in Turkey.

“It’s a great pleasure and honor to be accepted to this esteemed group. By becoming a USGBC Faculty, I intend to further promote LEED in the region contributing to the market transformation towards a greener economy” – says Agnes Vorbrodt, the Founder, CEO and Vice President of PLGBC.

In the past two weeks, Agnes Vorbrodt taught the first two official LEED trainings in Warsaw – LEED 101 and LEED 201.
