Agnes Vorbrodt - Principal and Owner,
MArch, MBA, ALM in EM, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C
 

Ms. Vorbrodt is the Principal of VvS | Architects & Consultants, an international practice specializing in sustainable design and consulting. With past experience in hospitality and residential architecture gained in excellent US and Polish firms, she offers broad international expertise to her clients and students. Her select past projects include: Hotel and Residences at
Mandarin Oriental Boston, Private Residence at Ritz Carlton, Shaw’s Supermarket (with CBT Architects), a number of Marriott, Hilton and Sheraton projects in the USA (with Group One Partners) as well as winning designs at various competitions and exhibitions.


Ms. Vorbrodt is also the Founder, CEO and Vice president of international relations and architecture of the Polish Green Building Council, an NGO accredited by the WorldGBC as an Established Council. Since 2007 she has been successfully building and managing the organization, leading it by all levels of the WorldGBC membership. She led the Council through difficult negotiations with the rating tool owners, securing exclusive contracts with the USGBC and BRE. She originated and implemented the idea of PLGBC Green Materials Certification,
worked with the WorldGBC European Network Education Committee on the common European education program. Currently she is building the PLGBC Green Building Education program, along with the professional accreditation. Agnes is now working on introducing the PLGBC Green Company certification as well as the PLGBC Green Product certification. She has been the author of the PLGBC Healthy Kids = Zdrowe Dzieci program. As a Vice President, she proudly represents the Council during national and international conferences and meetings. She is a confident and charismatic public speaker.


After graduate level studies in Poland, Germany and USA, Agnes commenced Environmental Management studies at Harvard University with a goal to become even more proficient in green design. After finishing her degree with a Master’s Thesis on green roofs, she undertook the challenge of co-teaching a Sustainable Buildings course ENVR E-119. Currently she is working towards her PhD in sustainable architecture.

Ms. Vorbrodt articles and work has been published in a number of leading national and international magazines. For the past 2 years, Ms. Vorbrodt has been serving as a sustainable design advisor for National Grid.

Among her recent projects is the first officially registered and the first LEED certified building in Poland. Currently she is working on a number of green projects in Poland and in the USA, including a number of large scale offices and production facilities pursuing LEED certification: LEED-CI Platinum targeted office in Krakow, LEED-CS Gold targeted Poleczki Business Park in
Warsaw (obtained LEED-CS Precertification at Gold Level), confidential LEED-NC and LEED-CS projects in Poznan, a few other confidential LEED-CI, LEED-CS and LEED-EBOM projects in Poland, LEED-CI project in Boston, LEED for Homes Zero Net Energy home in MA.

Agnes Vorbrodt serves on a number of volunteer committees, mostly within the PLGBC, WorldGBC ERN and USGBC LEED International Roundtable, sharing her green building expertise and helping shape the green building movement internationally.
